Atty. Brian R. Ade

Brian R. Ade is a litigation attorney with Rivkin Radler LLP, based in Hackensack, New Jersey. His practice focuses on Commercial Litigation, Insurance Law, Litigation – Insurance, and Product Liability Litigation – Defendants. Brian devotes a substantial portion of his work to matters involving construction defects, product liability, utilities, and insurance coverage disputes.

Brian has represented companies and individuals in a wide range of claims, including matters involving hazardous chemicals, chemical waste, and premises liability allegations such as trip-and-fall cases. His clients include manufacturers and distributors of medical, consumer, commercial, and industrial products, and he regularly defends product liability claims filed in New Jersey courts.

In the area of product liability litigation, Brian has handled numerous matters involving a variety of products. These cases have been resolved through mediation or voluntary dismissal, often without the need for motion practice, allowing clients to manage risk and litigation costs efficiently.

Brian’s insurance law practice includes counseling insurers and policyholders on coverage issues arising under automobile, comprehensive general liability, excess, umbrella, and other insurance policies. He advises clients on policy interpretation, coverage positions, and claims handling, and represents insurers in insurance coverage litigation.

Brian has been involved in significant insurance coverage matters before the Supreme Court of New Jersey. More recently, his work has included insurance coverage issues related to sexual abuse claims and claims alleging that talc caused or contributed to ovarian cancer and mesothelioma.

In addition to his litigation practice, Brian contributes to legal scholarship within the insurance law community. He co-authored the New Jersey chapter of the 2014 edition of Writing Reservation of Rights: A North American Compendium, published by the DRI Insurance Law Committee, and previously served as a regional editor for DRI’s Excess and Umbrella Compendium.
