Doug has tried more than 50 cases to verdict and has extensive experience handling matters involving drug and medical devices, defamation, marine and aviation claims, unfair competition, trade secrets, and patent-related disputes. He also advises businesses on risk management, insurance coverage, and liability exposure.
He has significant appellate experience and has argued cases before the Washington State Supreme Court on issues including market share liability, joint and several liability, defamation, qualified privilege, and successor liability. He has also served as co-defense liaison counsel in national multidistrict litigation, including the Phenylpropanolamine (PPA) litigation involving thousands of cases.
Doug has represented clients in major trials and arbitrations, including international arbitration proceedings before the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, as well as matters before the American Arbitration Association.
His recent and notable work includes defending an aviation manufacturer in a fatal crash case, representing parties in large commercial disputes, and leading litigation involving construction failures, insurance recovery, and product-related claims.
