Based in Uniondale, New York, he is a partner at Rivkin Radler LLP and focuses his practice on advising and representing insurers in complex coverage matters. Michael is a partner in Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Coverage and Compliance, Investigations & White Collar Practice Groups and serves on the firm’s Management Committee. Following the mortgage fraud crisis, Michael has regularly provided coverage analysis on matters involving mortgagees and other lienholders, including issues related to foreclosure and a mortgagee’s potential rights under an insurance policy. In this area, he has assisted insurers in developing guidelines and procedures for handling mortgagee claims. He has also worked with insurers addressing first‑party property claims and related litigation arising from Superstorm Sandy. Michael frequently presents seminars and educational programs for clients and insurance industry professionals on topics such as claim investigation, policy interpretation, and the handling of first‑party property insurance claims. Before entering private practice, Michael served as a prosecutor in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York. In that role, he investigated and tried numerous felony and misdemeanor cases to verdict, gaining courtroom and investigative experience that informs his current Insurance Law practice.
