Michael K. Ligorano is a member of the firm and focuses his practice in the areas of real estate and immigration.

Mike regularly works with land developers, construction companies, major corporations, and small businesses in the evaluation of undeveloped land and throughout all phases of the application process. He handles zoning-related disputes, denial of land use permits, exclusionary zoning disputes, and other litigation arising out of the zoning and planning process. Mike has experience in the acquisition, development, and financing of numerous local projects and has served as a municipal attorney and planning board attorney for New Jersey towns.

In addition to his real estate and land use work, Mike has an active immigration practice where he works with both small and multi-national businesses to help them gain access and remain in the U.S. He works closely with investors who are starting new companies or establishing branches of their existing business in the U.S. and provides strategic guidance to them on a variety of immigration matters.

Prior to returning to Norris McLaughlin, Michael served as General Counsel for the Diocese of Metuchen, overseeing all civil legal affairs of the Diocese, and serving as the supervising attorney for the Diocese of Metuchen Catholic Charities Immigration Program.
