Nancy Del Pizzo is co-chair of Rivkin Radler LLP’s Intellectual Property Practice Group and practices from the firm’s Hackensack, NJ, office. She represents businesses and individuals in Commercial Litigation, Litigation - Intellectual Property, and Litigation - Patent matters in courts and forums throughout the United States. Her practice focuses on disputes involving trademarks, trade dress, copyrights, patents, restrictive covenants, domain names, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, false advertising, defamation, trade libel, and website accessibility. Nancy works with clients across a range of industries, helping them address complex disputes while aligning litigation strategy with broader business goals.

With more than two decades of legal experience, Nancy advises clients at every stage of the dispute process, including risk assessment, pre-suit evaluation, case commencement, discovery, expert coordination, motion practice, and trial preparation. She also assists businesses with litigation avoidance strategies and internal policies designed to reduce legal exposure. Her practice includes counseling on data breach response and post-breach notification obligations, as well as preparing website terms and conditions and privacy policies.

Nancy regularly negotiates and drafts commercial agreements, including licensing, confidentiality, and assignment agreements, and assists clients with trademark matters, including trademark application prosecution and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Her work frequently involves coordinating legal strategy across intellectual property, technology, and commercial disputes.

In addition to her litigation and counseling work, Nancy writes and speaks on topics including intellectual property law, privacy, and diversity and inclusion. She began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Barbara Byrd Wecker, J.A.D. (ret.). While in law school, she served as managing editor of the Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law and evening vice president of the Student Bar Association Executive Board, and she interned for the Hon. William J. Martini, U.S.D.J.

Before entering the legal profession, Nancy worked in media and communications, providing writing, editing, and consulting services to organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. She authored hundreds of articles for consumer and business-to-business publications, focusing on health, medicine, and fitness, including extensive coverage of eye care and eyewear. This background informs her practical perspective when advising clients on intellectual property, Commercial Litigation, Litigation - Intellectual Property, and Litigation - Patent matters.
