Career

Roberto Duque Estrada is a founding partner at Brigagão, Duque Estrada – Advogados. He started his carrer as an associate lawyer, working with Professor Alberto Xavier, first at Castro Barros Sobral & Xavier Advogados (1991-1995) and after at Xavier, Bernardes, Bragança Advogados (1995–2002), where he became partner. He was partner of Professor Alberto Xavier at Xavier, Bernardes, Bragança (2002–2011), Xavier, Bragança Advogados (2011-2013) and Xavier, Duque Estrada, Emery, Denardi (2013-2018).

Professional Memberships

Member of the Tax Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA), where he was an officer from 2014-2018. Member of the Compliance Committee of the Commercial Association of Rio de Janeiro (ACRJ). Director of Brazilian Financial Law Association (ABDF-IFA Brazil). Member of the Institute for International Taxation (IITI). Member of the Board of directors of Monteiro Aranha S/A.

Publications

Roberto Duque Estrada is an articulist of electronic magazines, co-author of the book “Tax Advisor” and author of several articles published in books and specialized local and international magazines. He worked with Alberto Xavier in the update of the 7th and 8th editions of the book Direito Tributário Internacional do Brasil. He is also an extremely active lecturer for the main tax law congress, conferences and seminars held in Brazil and abroad.

He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, branches of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Brasilia.
