As part of his trusts and estates practice, Scott frequently represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in contested estate matters, including will contests and accounting proceedings involving allegations such as fraud, forgery, and undue influence. He also has extensive experience handling matters before the Internal Revenue Service, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, the U.S. Tax Court, and the New York State Tax Tribunal. Scott frequently lectures on estate planning, small business tax planning, and taxation topics. He is also a certified public accountant. While attending Baruch College, Scott authored an “Estate and Gift Tax Handbook” as his thesis, addressing methodologies for valuing assets for estate and gift tax purposes.
