Sheryl Willert is a Seattle-based attorney who focuses on labor and employment law, including counseling, workplace investigations, and dispute resolution. She advises unionized and nonunionized employers in both the public and private sectors on a wide range of employment matters.

Sheryl’s practice includes issues involving employment discrimination, compliance, privacy, and workplace policies. She also represents clients in employment-related disputes and provides strategic guidance to organizations on risk management and internal investigations.

In addition to her employment practice, Sheryl has experience handling commercial litigation, product liability, and medical negligence matters. She has also advised professional athletes and nonprofit organizations on business and legal issues, including work with the Why Not You Foundation.

Sheryl is a nationally recognized speaker and author on employment law topics and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® every year since 1997. She holds an AV Preeminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

She serves on the board of directors of Williams Kastner and co-chairs the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Team. She also chairs the firm’s Diversity Committee and previously served as Managing Director.

Sheryl is a past president of DRI, the largest association of civil defense attorneys, where she was the first female and first African American officer. The organization’s Sheryl J. Willert Pioneer Diversity Award is named in her honor.

She has received numerous recognitions for her professional and community contributions, including being named a Woman of Influence by the Puget Sound Business Journal and receiving awards from national and regional legal and diversity organizations.

Sheryl earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University and her B.A., with distinction, from Duke University.
