- A summa cum laude graduate of Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska, Mitchell also clerked for the Sarpy County Public Defender’s Office in Nebraska, and can analyze both sides of a criminal case
- Now, Mitchell is an attorney in our Municipal Prosecution group and has a passion for being in the courtroom and advocating on behalf of victims
- In addition to partnering with cities, Mitchell has been appointed a Special Assistant County Attorney in multiple jurisdictions and routinely prosecutes felony crimes in greater Minnesota
- He has tried a wide range of cases to both the court and a jury, has litigated pretrial issues on the fourth, fifth, and sixth amendments, as well as argued several cases on appeal
- With this experience, Mitchell has presented at several conferences on topics such as evidence management and qualified immunity, and routinely prepares trainings on legal updates for police departments when new laws are passed or new case law is decided
- When he is not working, Mitchell enjoys everything outdoors, from going hiking, to being on the water, or riding (and fixing) dirt bikes
- He is continually working on his golf game and finds time for some pick-up hockey in the winter as well
