- I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1984 with a Bachelors of Arts in English (also Phi Beta Kappa)
- I attended law school at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia
- I obtained my J.D. degree in 1989, and am a member of the Order of the Coif academic honor society
- I settled in Fresno in 1989, where I have maintained my practice
- When CDs were the rage, I reviewed a lot of music for a local newspaper

- You had to be there -- I'd receive 15 or more CDs every week
- Now, I listen to lots of live music and other ROIOs
- My son is attending law school at UC Irvine, and my daughter is a computer science major at UCSB
