Atty. A.J. Temsamani

A.J. Temsamani represents individuals and families with a focus on practical and reasonable solutions designed to meet each client’s goals. Based in Garden City, New York, A.J. works with clients of The Law Firm of A.J. Temsamani PC on a wide range of Family Law matters, including divorce, mediation and related issues. Whether a matter is resolved through mediation or litigation, A.J. approaches every case with careful attention to the specific facts, priorities, and concerns involved.

For more than 30 years, A.J. has concentrated his legal practice on divorce and family law. Over the course of his career, he has received professional recognition from peers and legal organizations, including:

• Receipt of the Martindale-Hubbell “AV” Peer Review Rating, reflecting peer evaluations for ethical standards and legal ability.
• Selection as a New York Super Lawyer, an honor limited to a small percentage of attorneys in the New York metropolitan area.
• Recognition by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys among a select group of divorce and family law attorneys in New York State.
• Recognition by the Ten Leaders Cooperative for work in divorce law on Long Island.
• Features in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, and Long Island Pulse Magazine in connection with attorney rating and selection programs.

A.J. has also served as a Special Master in the Nassau County Supreme Court Matrimonial Part Neutral Evaluation Program. In addition to courtroom representation, he is trained in divorce mediation and assists clients in pursuing negotiated resolutions when appropriate. He remains actively involved in the legal community and currently serves as President and a Master member of the New York Family Law American Inn of Court. He is also a member of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Matrimonial Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association.

A.J. regularly contributes to continuing legal education and academic programs. He has lectured for the Nassau Academy of Law on matrimonial topics such as custody, visitation, relocation, and trial preparation. He has also taught students in family law practice seminars at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and Touro Law School. In addition, A.J. has participated in the development and presentation of programs through the New York Family Law American Inn of Court focused on ethics, professionalism, and civility in matrimonial practice. He has also served as a mentor to law students participating in the Child and Family Advocacy Fellowship Program at Hofstra University’s Center for Children, Families and the Law.

A.J. earned his undergraduate degree from Queens College of the City University of New York, where he was active in student government and served as president of the student government association. He later received his Juris Doctor degree from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University.
