- She attended the University of Denver for graduate studies, receiving her Master’s Degree in Social Work with an emphasis on children, youth and families in 1986 and J.D. in 1989
- She was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1989.Actively contributing to the community, Bonnie was appointed by Governor Ritter to the Colorado Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Advisory Council in 2008 and was appointed Chairperson of this Board by Governor Hickenlopper in July 2011
- She served as Chairperson until September 2014 and her term as a member of the Council expired in July 2015
- Bonnie was also a member of the Colorado Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice, Juvenile Justice Task-Force 2011 – 2014.Bonnie’s professional memberships include the , Colorado Bar Association, the Juvenile Law and Family Law Sections of the Colorado Bar Association, and Arapahoe County Bar Association
