- Born and raised in Bismarck, Briana graduated from Century High School in 2010 and went on to earn an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Minnesota in 2013
- From there, she attended law school at the University of Nebraska College of Law, graduating in the top five percent of her law school class in May of 2016
- While in law school, she served as the Nebraska Law Review's Online Editor, represented the Nebraska College of Law at the 2015 ABA National Client Counseling Competition after winning the regional championship, and was elected to the Order of the Coif
