- After graduation he undertook various positions with Shell Oil and Shell Chemical Companies, including Operations Manager, for several petrochemical units in Louisiana
- In 1995, he received the Harold A. Levy Award, presented for outstanding professional achievement by a Tulane University Engineering alumnus
- While employed with Shell, Mr. Reuter earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from Tulane University
- He received his legal training from Loyola Law School
- At Loyola, he earned the Faculty Award for the highest cumulative average in his graduating class and was a member of the Loyola Law Review
- Mr. Reuter has remained active in education
- He is on the Adjunct Faculty of Loyola Law School, where he teaches Computer Law and Intellectual Property Seminar
