- She also volunteers on a regular basis with the Family Justice Centre, where she supervises law students through Pro Bono Students Canada as they assist self-represented litigants, and with the Virtual Legal Clinic at Luke’s Place, where she provides summary legal advice to survivors of domestic violence across Ontario
- Outside of her legal practice, Carina has been actively involved with various non-profit organizations assisting children, youth and families in Toronto
- She served for six years as a member of the Board of Directors for the Red Door Family Shelter, and she is currently a Board Member at West Toronto Community Legal Services
- In 2022, Carina was awarded the University College Young Alumni of Influence Award from her alma mater, the University of Toronto, in recognition of her advocacy work for children and youth from the child welfare system
- In 2025, she was named as the Young Lawyer of the Year by the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers
