- While at university, Catherine worked as a law clerk at the Melbourne University Legal Service, volunteered at the Public Interest Law Clearing House and at Victoria Legal Aid, undertook internships at the Coroner’s Court of Victoria and the Australian Law Reform Commission, and worked as a research assistant to Associate Professor Elise Bant

- In 2020 Catherine obtained a Diploma of Government Law at the University of Melbourne
- She is an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law and a member of the Migration Law Committee and the Family Violence Working Group with the Law Institute of Victoria
