- He is a graduate of The University of South Carolina School of Law where he was selected to participate in the Federal Litigation Clinical Program and served as President, Vice-President and Membership Chairman of the International Legal Fraternity Phi Delta Phi
- Following law school he was admitted to the practice of law in South Carolina and returned home to begin his legal career
- Since then he has represented clients in all South Carolina state and federal courts, including the United States District Court, the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the South Carolina Supreme Court
