- In 1992, George started his own law firm and for many years shared office space with the late H. Spencer Barrow, Thomas C. Worth, Jr., J. Roger Edwards, Jr. and Isabel W. Mattox
- In the 1990’s, George’s practice expanded to include extensive representation in both civil and criminal appellate matters before the N.C
- Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of North Carolina and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals as well as numerous post-conviction cases
