- Joshua was also an active participant in UH’s advocacy program, representing University of Houston at several national mock trial competitions and winning the Hippard Open Mock Trial tournament
- Joshua was one of a handful of students to be named to the Order of the Barristers for his outstanding efforts in trial advocacy
- More importantly, during his last year of law school Joshua met his future wife Leigh Ann
