- I did not always know that I wanted to become an attorney
- After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in psychology, I was still searching for a meaningful career path
- I decided to take time to explore my interests and moved to New York for a year
- While there, I observed a law school class with a friend, an experience that sparked my interest in the law
- That moment led me to prepare for the LSAT and ultimately enroll at Touro Law School
- Law school proved to be a transformative experience
- The coursework, professors, and relationships challenged me to think critically about complex issues and view problems from multiple perspectives
- Upon graduating, however, I remained uncertain about which area of law to pursue
- I was drawn to many practice areas until an opportunity presented itself at a boutique law firm on Long Island that focused exclusively on family law
- That position marked the beginning of my career in this field
- Practicing law in New York was demanding and shaped my professional foundation
- Appearing before rigorous judges and working in a fast-paced environment taught me discipline, preparation, and respect for the legal process
- Those early years instilled values I continue to carry with me in my practice today, including professionalism and appreciation for the responsibility attorneys hold within the justice system
- In 2014, I returned to Oklahoma following my divorce, accompanied by my Shiba Inu, Riley Marie
- At that time, I was uncertain whether family law was still the right fit for me, so I explored personal injury law for about a year
- That experience helped me gain perspective and ultimately reaffirmed that family law was where I felt most aligned
- I returned to family law in 2015 with a renewed sense of purpose
- Since that time, I have continued to develop my litigation, negotiation, and legal writing skills through national training conferences and focused education on complex divorce matters, including business valuation issues
- I am board-certified for Family Law Trials by the National Board of Trial Advocacy
- I am also certified as a mediator through the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, which supports my work in Family Law Mediation
