- He is also the co-author of “Handling Construction Defect Claims: Western States” (4th Edition), the nation’s only legal textbook on the subject
- In 2012, Matt also helped organize an environmental management program that includes preserving the hatching grounds of sea turtles along a two mile stretch of the Mexican Pacific Coastline in an area called the Bahia de Chamela
