- Upon earning his J.D., Rainwater returned to Arkansas to serve as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Little Rock, he then transitioned into private practice where he honed his experience in commercial and bankruptcy law
- Rainwater then transitioned to a new firm where he represented city officials statewide through the Arkansas Municipal League Defense Fund before founding the Arkansas Association of Counties’ liability defense program in 1987, ultimately handling over 6,000 cases across three decades
- In 1993, he started to focus on catastrophic personal injury, and in 2006 co-founded Rainwater, Holt & Sexton, which now has over 40 attorneys and 150 professional staff
