- While attending the University of Wyoming College of Law, Ross first entered the criminal law arena working in the Prosecution Clinic, Albany County Wyoming
- After graduation from law school, Ross returned to Georgia, and began working as a law clerk for the judges on the Appalachian Judicial Circuit
- He then went on to serve as an Assistant Solicitor General in Cherokee County, and later as an Assistant District Attorney in Cherokee County
- Ross then began his Criminal Defense career in 2004 as a trial lawyer in private practice
- On a personal note, Ross and his wife Stephanie live in Jasper, where Stephanie works as a special education teacher
