How to renew driver's license during condition removal period?

My driver's license will be expire on March, so does my conditional green card. The officer at DMV told me that I need to renew my green card in order to renew my driver's license. I received a letter from USCIS that my conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year. Do I get another green card with the new expiration date on it? Or do I take this letter to DMV so they can renew my driver's license? I need to have a valid ID (driver's license) to take CPA exam, and the next exam is on April, I really need my license get renewed. PS: I went to get my finger prints taken at application support center today.

To renew your drivers license, you should take your expiring conditional Green card and the receipt evidencing the one-year extension along with your expiring driver license to have your drivers license renewed for an additional year. Eventually CIS will either issue the ten-year card without an interview or you will be scheduled for an interview. In the interim the filing receipt will be your evidence of continuing lawful status.
You should be able to take the original receipt notice with you to DMV so that DMV will renew your driver's license. Each state's DMV has its own requirements. Good luck!
I would highly recommend that you seek the help of an immigration attorney. Yes, you do need to REMOVE the conditions on your greencard (not renew) by filing a Form I-751 jointly with your spouse. Your permanent resident status would be extended for a year. Proper documentation needs to be filed in support of this application. It also needs to be filed within a 90 day window - not too early, not too late. Now, if you are no longer together with you spouse, you still can remove the conditions on your greencard, but this should be discussed more at length with an immigration attorney.
