Should I fight my DART fart evasion tickets?

In the last month I received 2 DART citations for 'fare evasion'. I didn't have my ticket the first time because the machines at the dart station were malfunctioning. They have a tendency to go very slow and since my train was going to come in about 2-3 minutes (I didn't want to wait for the next one as I would be late for work) I decided to jump on & buy my ticket at the stop I got off at. I explained this to a dart officer and even showed her my expired pass from the previous month. She told me if she heard the machines were malfunctioning she'd call me up and the citation would be waived. I never received an such call. The next time I had a ticket but forgot my wallet . My intent was always to be honest & have fare.

Only you are in a position to decide whether it's worth fighting them. (Nice typo in the subject line, by the way! It gave me a good laugh!) Best of luck to you.

So you admit that your two citations were because you did not pay your fare and have evidence of having done so.
Explain to me what grounds do you intend to contest the tickets?
I always intend to be honest and have fare. Except for those two times when I didn't have fare and was ticketed for fare evasion.
Can't say I see the judge buying this story, especially since he probably gets it a dozen times a day. You committed the offense. Pay the fine and don't waste every ones time.
