Supplemental support to cover for missing info in birth certificate when filing i485

I am a citizen petitioning for my husband to get greencard. His foreign birth certificate does not have his name. What other documents can we obtain/ attach to cover for this missing information in the birth certificate? Thanks.

It would be best if your husband can get his birth certificate corrected by the issuing authority in his home country. Go ahead and start that process anyway, even if you decide to go with supplemental evidence. At the very least I would also provide such documents as a baptism certificate, school documents (at an early age), affidavits from family members who were present at his birth. But these may not be acceptable if the birth certificate itself can be fixed.

Affidavits of people who were present at his birth may be used as a substitute.
