My foreign wife's I130 file was transferred multiple times within a week. Is something wrong? How much longer?

My wife's case started out in Nebraska, in late February, and just last week I got a series of emails. First it was transferred to another USCIS office, then to a local field office and then back to a USCIS office. I got a letter in the mail saying it's in Cali now. Do you think something may be wrong here? It's going to be 5 months next week (the time it says it should process within on the USCIS website). I'm a US Citizen on top! Is there anything I can do to speed this up? Thanks!

Although it is not completely clear from your question, it sounds like your wife's marriage-based adjustment of status application has been pending for nearly five months. That is well within the ordinary processing time for the USCIS's Atlanta Field Office (covering all of Georgia and Alabama). I presume that your wife already received her Employment Authorization Document (and Advance Parole, if she was eligible for that), and already has completed her biometrics/fingerprint appointment. Within the next month or two she should expect to receive an appointment notice informing you and her of her adjustment of status interview date.
If you and she were represented by an immigration attorney who was familiar with all the relevant information relating to your wife, the marriage and the preparation and documentation of the pending application, that lawyer would be able to tell you more about any weaknesses, problems or other issues that you and your wife may encounter that could cause delay or other difficulties in achieving success.
