If a client subcontracts a vendor through my company and the contract doesn't mention our company at all. are we legally bound

a client used a videographer through us who has his own company. the contract is with his company with no mention of ours. But the client is seeking damages from us. dose the client have any legal ground in this case?

Does "through my company" mean a referral? A process by which services are delivered and payments are made via your company? Something else?
