I need to know my rights relative to a live-in caregiver?

I live in a senior apartment complex. The lease states that I guess may only stay 5 days per month. My 17 year old grandson is my caregiver and I received a letter from the manager stating that he may only stay 5 days a month. Originally she told me he could stay 5 days a week then it was 3 days a week and now it's 5 days a month. I don't have any paperwork stating she did say he could stay 5 days a week. What rights do I have relative to a live-in caregiver which my grandson is.

If you are disabled, and need the caregiver services because of that disability, you should be able to demand that the landlord reasonably accommodate your disability accordingly.
I suggest you contact the Cal. Dept. of Fair Employment and Housing, and perhaps a local disability rights or landlord-tenant attorney.
Good luck!

Hello:
You are entitled to have your son - or anyone else - as a caregiver a reasonable accommodation based on your medical condition and disability. I suggest you make another request to your landlord - in writing. Keep a copy for yourself. If your landlord continues to fail and refuse to accommodate your request, she may be exposing herself to a civil suit. I hope your letter makes her reconsider her position; otherwise, there are attorneys here who would be willing to intervene/assist you.
All the best.
