Pro se and attorney fees?

I am pro se and my spouse has attorney. Settlement mediation failed and we have our case management conference next month. I know that if we don't settle before then the judge might send us to trial. My question is, if i retain an attorney, can I request for attorney fees? The only issue left is child support and our house.

You can request it, but no guarantees the judge will grant it. Keep in mind if you already agreed on custody, then the child support issue should be pretty straightforward per statutory guidelines in Nevada.

You can always request them, whether you will get them is based on whether it is fair to do so and whether it is equitable for your spouse to pay all or a portion of your fees. It is not a question of winning or losing in family when it comes to awarding attorney fees; the award of attorney fees is based on whether one spouse has more resources than another, and thereby putting them on equal footing to litigate.

You can always request fees. Whether you get them or not depends on specifics of the case. It sounds from your inquiry that this is a divorce matter. Attorney fees are often awarded in domestic relations cases, usually with the more wealthy spouse paying the fees. Also, attorney fees can be awarded based upon conduct (or perhaps more appropriately , misconduct) of a party in the divorce.
