About
- Hi, I am Deborah Doak
- When I started out as a lawyer 28 years ago, I was fortunate to get to practice in the personal injury area of the law at The Governor Joseph P. Teasdale Law Firm in Kansas City, Missouri
- At that time, the Hyatt skywalk collapse had occurred and the Governor’s firm represented several of the horribly injured tea dance attendees
- From that first experience in helping those injured in a terrible accident, I knew this was the area of law I was meant to practice
- I knew this was how I could make a difference in people’s lives, especially as this was a time when they needed help
- Since then, I have broadened my legal experience, in both civil and criminal law
- I moved to St. Louis in 1984 to be with and then marry my husband, Bob
- In St. Louis, I went to work at a general practice firm
- After a while, I wanted more time in the courtroom so I became an Assistant Public Defender in St. Louis County
- I enjoyed the fast pace and the litigation expertise that I gained there
- Then I was offered an opportunity to join the litigation department of Selner, Glaser, Komen
- I expanded and honed my skills in the personal injury practice
- I worked there for many years before taking my knowledge and experience to my own practice where my focus was to help those injured in accidents receive the compensation they deserved
- In each of my job settings, I have learned much and worked hard to strengthen my skills and knowledge in order to serve my clients
- I take my responsibility to my clients very seriously
- I look forward to meeting and helping you when you come in to Brown & Crouppen
