Atty. Jim Mueller

Jim Mueller is the owner and managing partner of Mueller Family LawGroup, a Dallas, Texas family law firm. He is board certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Family Lawyers, and the author of the book Divorce in Texas: The Legal Process, Your Rights, and What to Expect.

Jim is a Diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only organization limited to 100 family law trial lawyers from across the United States.

His practice is dedicated to Family Law matters, including Collaborative Law: Family Law, complex divorce, high-asset property division, child custody and conservatorship disputes, and marital and premarital property agreements. He is also frequently appointed by Texas courts to serve as an amicus attorney.

Jim serves on executive committees and boards for several professional organizations, including the Texas Family Law Council, the TAFLS Board, the Texas Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and the National AAML. He has chaired continuing legal education programs nationwide and regularly speaks to family law attorneys on developments in Texas Family Law. He currently serves as one of a limited number of AAML Certified Arbitrators in Texas.

In addition to representing clients, Jim is committed to supporting the legal community and advancing the practice of Family Law in Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Rhodes College and graduated cum laude from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University.
