- Mr. Patterson also served as Governor for the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Law School Division, Public Relations Director of the Student Bar Association, and as a Member of the Military Veterans, Black Law, and Federal Bar Student Associations
- Mr. Patterson has dedicated his life in service of others which is evident from his seven-year service in the United States Marine Corps, and thereafter for eight years as a Deputy Sheriff in Polk County, FL, where he received a medal of valor, and numerous other commendations
