- Upon completing his studies at St. John's University, Michael matriculated to the North Carolina Central School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate degree in 2003
- Upon passing the State Bar in 2003, Michael practiced criminal law, briefly as an Assistant Public Defender for Durham County and later as an associate with Harris and Associates, also located in Durham, North Carolina
- In December, 2005, Michael relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina as one of the founding partners of the law firm of Cloud, Navarro and Williams, PLLC. The firm concentrated primarily on the areas of criminal and family law and afforded clients service in a number of surrounding counties
- During his time with the firm Michael was also certified as contract advisor for the National Football League Players Association
- In June, 2009, Michael formed the Law Office of Michael E. Navarro, PLLC where he has continued to service the communities in Mecklenburg County and several neighboring counties
