- Pat Kelley has been a trial lawyer since his graduation from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in 1983
- He began his career as a JAG officer in the U.S
- Army, serving as a Trial Counsel and Senior Defense Counsel
- In 1989, he left the Army to join the Commonwealth’s Attorney office for the City of Williamsburg/James City County
- During his 6 years with this office, he prosecuted thousands of cases, from simple trespassing to murders, rapes and robberies
- In 1996, Pat decided to enter private practice and became an associate with the prestigious Norfolk firm Breit, Drescher and Breit
- While at Breit, Drescher he received what could only be described as a “crash course” in personal injury litigation
- He has successfully handled hundreds of cases for individuals who had been injured due to the negligence of others
- After 2 years in Norfolk, Pat returned to practice in Williamsburg, becoming a partner with longtime Williamsburg attorney David Holland
- Pat’s practice since 1998 has focused exclusively on criminal and traffic defense and personal injury
- Following David Holland’s untimely death in 2003, Pat has partnered with Stephanie Montgomery and Tex McKinnon, and continues to provide aggressive representation to clients charged with criminal or traffic offenses and those injured by the negligence of others
- He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers
