About

Scott Dolan is a former award-winning newspaper reporter who spent years covering Maine’s state and federal courts before becoming a lawyer himself. He is a partner at the law firm Petruccelli, Martin & Haddow in Portland and represents individuals and small business clients in civil and appellate litigation, successful business building and problem solving, and intellectual property.

Scott graduated from the University of Maine School of Law in 2019. During law school, he served as a judicial intern for Judge Nancy Torresen of the United States District Court for the District of Maine, served as a staff member of the Maine Law Review, competed regionally with the law school’s trial team, and worked as a student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic.

Prior to his legal career, Scott worked as a journalist in the daily newspaper business for 17 years, most recently as a staff reporter for the Portland Press Herald covering the courts and legal affairs beat.

Scott currently serves as president of the board of directors of the Peaks Island News and serves on the board of the New England First Amendment Coalition. He served formerly on the board of directors of the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance and of the Maine Freedom of Information Coalition.
