- Mr. James has concentrated in matrimonial and family law since 2005, when he joined a predecessor to Rabin Schumann & Partners LLP. He has extensive litigation experience in New York’s trial and appellate courts, in matters including, but not limited to, divorce, child custody and visitation (including in nontraditional family situations), equitable distribution of marital property, spousal maintenance, orders of protection, adoption and international child abduction (Hague Convention)
- Mr. James is Chair of the White Plains Democratic City Committee and a member of the Executive Committee of the Westchester County Democratic Committee
- He is a former member of the Rye City Human Rights Commission, Manhattan Community Board 2 and the Board of Directors of the Lower Hudson Valley chapter of the New York Civil Liberties Union
- He served as a member and as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the White Plains Public Library
- He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of New York and the New York County Lawyers Association
