My son-in law that lives in Missouri is coaxing my 4 yr old grandson to say I take baths with him all the time which is false. I get him for visits and bring him to Texas for the visits. This type of stuff has been ongoing for almost 7 yrs and I have been able to ignore most of the rest but it is serious now. I need advice on things I can do to protect myself from this man and his plots.

You probably want to sit down with an attorney in Tyler Texas and discuss your options. I believe it would be well worth the money & be very informative for you to do this. I suggest you do it immediately. If your son-in-law in Missouri brings a case against you in Missouri then you will need to retain the legal services of an attorney in Missouri to represent you in that state. I doubt that any attorney in Texas is licensed in Missouri. Plus the cost of a Texas attorney flying to Missouri would be expensive. Additionally, you would want an attorney that is familiar with the judge & the judge's policies in Missouri. I suggest that you use this website & www.lawguru.com to locate an attorney in Texas & Missouri. Both sites allow people to post questions for free. You can read attorney answers & choose someone that you like. I suggest that you do this soon. It sounds like you have been having problems with this man for a long time. What do I suggest that you do? The first thing that comes to mind is to never been alone with any of your grandchildren. You need witnesses that are willing to come to court and testify on your behalf. If they have to come to Missouri -- this could be expensive & time consuming for them. I'm sure that you are aware that he can call the police at any time & have them do what is commonly known as a "good & welfare" visit to make sure that the children are safe when they are with you. I'm also sure that you know that he can call the agency common known as CPS & report you. If so, a file will be opened up on you. This file will exist on you in their computer system for the rest of your life -- even if they determine that the report is "unfounded" and they close the case. Additionally, CPS cannot tell you who made the call. And you cannot file civil or criminal charges against any person that contacted CPS. I'm probably scaring you & I hope that I am scaring you! This man sounds very dangerous. If he alleges that you are sexually abusing your grandchild, that is a criminal matter! You would be looking at jail time & fines. You would need to retain the services of a criminal attorney. This could cost you thousands of dollars. Plus, 4 year old children are very bad witnesses -- remember they believe in the Easter bunny & Santa Claus! I'm sure that you are aware that as a grandparent that you have "limited" rights to have access to your grandchildren. You should discuss this with any attorney that you consult with regarding your grandparent rights. There was a famous US Supreme Court case several years ago commonly known as "Troxel" that limited grandparent rights. I assume that your daughter stands behind her husband & that you do not have a good relationship with her. Therefore, do not expect her to support you. In fact, do not discuss this matter with her at all -- it could backfire on you! Please talk to an attorney in Tyler immediately!
