I am trying to get a california guard card will my 5150 hold show up because i applied to get a firearm and they told me no.

I was on a 72 hour hold and released it happened in 08. they said they had to report it so i can not have any weapons for 5 years but will that show up on backgroud check for unarmed guard card

If you were placed on a Welfare and Institutions Code Section 5150 hold, you cannot purchase/own/possess a firearm for a 5 year period. Unfortunately, yes, a 5150 hold will likely show up on a background check.
