What can I do when a apartment maintenance worker steals my belongings?

I came home from a trip that lasted 4 days to find my apartment trashed. I went to ask the office if maintenance had been in there, they said no. I went and asked my neighbors and they informed me the maintenance staff had been going in and out of my apartment..... I called the police and one of the maintenance workers stated he did take/steal some things and only returned a bag of clothes. They wiped me out, Tvs were gone, movies, beds, etc. What can I do to remedy this, the manager of the complex isnt being to helpful. Thanks in advance, Michael
