No, having a child and a boyfriend will not really hurt you in Illinois. Fault has no bearing on outcome in Illinois. You really need to locate your husband and get divorced. If you need help doing that, I have the name of a military contact who might be able to assist you. Get a lawyer and start the process.

You need to take a deep breath and consult an attorney. The child from another man is not an issue because you have no fault grounds covered.

An additional complication that some persons will face are the protections given under the law to members of the military. This is called the "Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA)". Judges generally require the signing of an affidavit regarding military service before granting divorce. Navigating one's rights in the face of these rules may be complex so the consultation of an attorney experienced in such matters would be helpful. It is fairly easy to determine whether a military person is on active duty or not. This may be the first question that will be important to answer.
