You need to be admitted to a school and have the funds to fund you studies in order to get a student visa. For the green card, you need a qualifying family based or employment based petitioner, to start. You should retain an experienced immigration lawyer, whether myself or one of my colleagues, to review all the facts, advise you, and handle the case.

You have to apply to the U.S. universities and be accepted by one of them. Once you are accepted by the university, they will send you I-20. I-20 shows how much money you need to become a F-1 student. You can use your or your parent's bank statement to prove that you can pay the tuition and living expense. Many universities will help you to change your status from B to F. You might have to go back to your home country if your B expire before the official school starts date. If you become a F-1 student, you are not allowed to work with a few exceptions.
