I violated probation. A warrant was issued. Seven months later, no arrest. When I look up the warrant now, it says warrant returned dismissed 02/2012. This is in Gwinnett County Ga

Has your probation sentence expired? If so, and without knowing more, I would guess that the probation department did not toll your probation sentence i.e. stop the time in its tracks. And if your sentence has expired, any warrant to arrest you for a probation violation would be invalid.

There is a chance the warrant was dismissed and your probation terminated. There is also a chance that the warrant is still active and you could be picked up on it at any time. Generally, in Gwinnett they are quick to pick up on warrants. Your best bet would be to contact an experienced attorney to check on the status of your warrant and assure it has been recalled or dismissed. You also need to ensure your probation was terminated and not tolled. Please contact me if I can be of any help. Good luck.

If you had a warrant issued for a violation of probation, I would be surprised if the warrant is withdrawn and dismissed. Depending on where your case was (e.g. State Court, Recorders, municipal), it may be easy to check the status of the case. Please let me know if I can be of assistance. I would be happy to help.
