Pressing charges against someone filming a sexual act without permission
Anonymous4 views3 answers
Can I press charges in the state of Wyoming against someone who filmed a sexual act with me without my knowledge or consent and has since been showing people and possibly posted it on the internet. Can I press charges against this person or is it a civil matter, and what would I need to prove that he did in fact do this?
You need to provide more facts. Was the person who filmed this the person who you were engaged with in the act? Did you know the fiming was going on at the time. Was it a Peeping Tom? There are criminal laws against invasion of privacy, and you can file a civil suit. Not sure that I would want to have to go to trial and have this film replayed, but you can contact an attorney in your area for more information.
I really do not have an answer , just a suggestion. See an attorney that handles sex related and computer cyber space internet issues.
As to your initial question about you pressing charges, you cannot, assuming there is a criiminal act, that is what the government does. If actionable, it could be prosecuted both civily and criminally.
