Will a lease addendum suffice when terminating a lease early?

My landlord and I agreed to terminate our lease early. They want to sell and we want to move back into our home that we own. I sent the landlord a lease termination agreement created on lawsmart.com. It was generic but addressed surrennder of property and no obligations past the lease termination date, etc. My landlord responded with a lease addendum instead which simply stated: "With respect to the Residential Lease Agreement for "property address", dated " " between " " (Landlord) and " "(Tenant), Landlord and Tenant hereby agree to amend the Term as follows: 3. TERM: The term of this Lease shall end on November 30th, 2012." Will this suffice and protect us as tenants or should I push for an actually lease termination? Thank you.

If both parties are in agreement that the lease will end on November 30, 2012, I don't see an issue as long as it is in writing and signed by both parties. Make sure that any procedure set forth in the lease for amendments is followed.
