No legal status here can I still win child custody?

Child Custody 3 views 3 answers
Hello, my ex-boyfriend and I separated and have a child together. I've been taking care of my child for 8 months now and he hasn't given me any money to help about. Our relationship is now worse and we barely talk. Now he wants to have a full custody of my child just to hurt me. I have no papers but been here for 20 years now. Do I have any rights to fight for child custody? What should I do? Please advise? I'm not sure if I should talk to immigration lawyer or family lawyer.

You need to seek the services of a custody attorney. Your immigration status does not matter to a court seeking the best interests of a child unless you are about to be deported. At the same time contact the Chicago BNar Association for areferral toi their Immigration Lawyers. I know Payal Goyal in Elk Grove Village and Azulay and Azylay in downtown cChicago are excellent Immigration Lawyers.

Your status should not affect your ability to seek custody of your U.S. citizen child. You should hire an attorney to take care of this as soon as possible. Contact Mary Helen Reyna (630) 759-0101 in Bolingbrook regarding your status just to make sure there are no other issues you need to address. As for the custody matter, there are many good lawyers near you.

You need to speak with a family attorney, as this falls outside the realm of an immigration attorneys specialty.
