What can you do if your pictures are shared/posted on the web without your permission?

I am 23 years old and I wanted to do nude modeling to make ends meet. But now things are thankfully better so I don't have to even consider that as an option. However, back when I was considering it as an option, I sent nude pictures of myself to folks who hire models. They probably won't share or upload those pictures on any site because they are professionals but in case somehow my pics found a way to the web, how can I sue them and take down the photos? I look considerably different now but just to be sure that it doesn't get in my way of securing employment or anything like that. However, I used a stage name and a corresponding email address to send in the photos.

Once pics are out on the web, it is extremely hard to permanently remove them. Do you know if there were any terms thy you agreed to when you submitted these pics? You may have granted them the rights to distribute them. In any event I'd need some additional information from you to determine what rights and options you have. My firm handles these sorts of matters on a regular basis. Feel free to contact me through my website.

I does not sound like your trust in these professionals has yet been violated. Someone owns the IP, the pictures. They would have rights to insist on removal for copyright violations. You may have signed a contract with the agencies. Review that. It may have a clause supporting your right request removal or return.

If they get out, they may change so many hands that you may never know from which source they escaped. So, if a company in Beijing put the pictures up, and assuming you can sue in copyright, are you going to hire a local attorney in China and bring suit? What if the same happens in India? Do you have a litigation fund you are building to follow this world-wide? Are you thinking about a fund to save for the money you will pay to have these cases prosecuted? This will be a huge project.
