Can i get good time on my probation in ny
Anonymous3 views3 answers
a friend told me if i move from pa to ny, that my three year probation sentence would be nearly cut in half with good time...what is good time and how is it applied
Who put you on probation PA or NY. In NY there is thepossibility of cutting down on the amoun of probation but it isn't automatic and generally requires the consent/approval (or at least no opposition) of the probation department. If it was PA the put you on probation you would need to have your probation transferred to NY and your PO approval before you can move.
There is no "good time" for probation in
Pennsylvania. That concept only works for incarceration.
In Pennsylvania, if you are sentenced to three years of probation, you serve 3 years of probation.
Unless your friend is a criminal defense attorney, they should probably not give any advice especially when it makes no sense. If this was true everyone would move. First you have to get permission from the court before you can move. second you may not be given permission and will not be able to move. if you are allowed to move, the same conditions will apply here.
