Pursuant to City ordinances, all vehicles must be properly licensed, operable and parked on a paved surface. If any of these requirements are not met, residents will be given notice of the violations and 10 days to cure the defects. If the defects are not cured, the vehicle may be towed at the owner's expense. Regardless of cause, how is this ordinance be legal? Why isn't this tresspass and seizure of property? I live out of state and my car has out of state plates-all current. They claiming that all cars in Nebraska must be registered in Nebraska within 30 days regardless of residency. The car has left the state and returned within the 30 days. In order to appeal the notice, I have to pay a $35 fee.

This is to keep people from keeping old clunkers in their yards. If you want to challenge the law hire an attorney to fight the battle. You'll want to bring in copies of all the paperwork you were given. Were you given the 10 day notice before they towed the car?
