How long a civil case whose the motion to dismiss has been denied can take before it goes to trial in RI Superior Court?

When discovery is complete one or both of the parties may move to assign the matter to the continuous jury trial calendar. It then depends on the county in which the case is filed. Bottom line is that the real "clock" doesn't begin until it is assigned to that trial calendar.
